This website provides general information about Express Key Locksmith and the locksmith services we offer in Birmingham and Jefferson County, Alabama. Content is provided in good faith for general guidance and does not constitute a guarantee about any specific vehicle, lock, door or property.

Pricing depends on the work in front of the technician, so the price is confirmed with you on site before work begins. Any figure mentioned before that point is general guidance only, not a quote. Where conditions differ from what was described (a different key type, a lock that has already been damaged, additional doors) the price is set once the job can be seen, and no work continues until you agree to it.

We require photo identification and evidence that you own the vehicle or property, or are otherwise authorized to access it, before performing any entry, key origination, rekeying or hardware change. We reserve the right to decline work where entitlement cannot be established.

Locksmith work covers locks, cylinders, keys, door hardware and related security equipment. It does not include general vehicle mechanical or electrical repair, carpentry, door slab or frame replacement, glazing, or electrical installation beyond the hardware we fit. Where a problem falls outside locksmith scope, we will identify it and recommend the appropriate trade.

Some vehicles restrict key programming to franchised dealers, and some locks cannot be opened without damage due to their condition or design. Where we identify either situation, we will explain the limitation before proceeding.

We use non-destructive methods wherever practical. In a minority of cases (a seized, broken or high-security lock), destructive entry is the only option. We will explain this and obtain your agreement, including the cost of replacement hardware, before proceeding.

Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing. We accept cash, credit card, debit card, mobile payment.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from services provided is limited to the amount paid for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost income or missed appointments. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.
