Emergency locksmith questions
What counts as an emergency locksmith call?
Being locked out of a car, home or business; keys lost or stolen; a key broken off in a lock; a lock that has failed and will not open; or needing locks changed immediately for safety reasons.
My child or pet is locked in the car. What should I do?
Call 911 first, especially in hot weather. Emergency responders can force entry immediately if a life is at risk. Call us as well, and tell the dispatcher a child or pet is inside so the call is prioritized.
Will an emergency lockout damage my lock?
Normally no. Non-destructive entry is the standard approach for automotive and residential locks. Drilling is a last resort for locks that are already broken or seized, and we discuss it with you before doing it.
Can you make a key if mine is lost, not just open the door?
Yes. We cut and program replacement car keys on site, including all-keys-lost jobs, and cut house keys or rekey your locks so the lost keys no longer work.
Do I have to prove the car or home is mine?
Yes. We verify ownership or right of entry with photo ID plus documentation such as registration, insurance, a lease, a utility bill or mail. This is standard practice and it protects you.
