Locksmith in Downtown Birmingham, Birmingham

Downtown is a parking deck city, and parking decks are where car keys get locked in. Between the office towers, the courthouse and county buildings, event traffic around Protective Stadium, the BJCC and Regions Field, and the loft conversions along First and Second Avenue North, automotive lockouts and lost fob calls are our most frequent downtown work.

Commercially, downtown is full of aluminum storefront doors, older mortise hardware in historic buildings, and offices that need rekeying as tenants and staff change. Loft and apartment residents call for rekeys and lockouts.

Historic office buildings along the avenues north of the railroad, many now converted to lofts and hotels, often still have heavy original doors with mortise locks. Those can usually be serviced and rekeyed rather than replaced, which keeps the building’s character and costs less. City and county offices and the courts around Linn Park, plus the growing number of residential towers, add a steady flow of commercial rekeying and lockouts.
